SoarClient is installed and started through Soar Launcher.
Go to downloads-
Download the installer
Open the download section and click “Download Windows installer” to get
SoarLauncher-latest.exe. -
Run it and finish setup
Double-click the
.exeand follow the prompts. -
Start the game from the launcher
Open Soar Launcher. On first start it downloads the game files and the bundled Java, then you can enter SoarClient.
-
Download the offline archive
In the download section, click “Download offline edition”. A dialog compares the two editions; choose “Download offline archive”.
-
Unzip
Extract the archive to a folder you will keep, such as
D:\Games\SoarClient. -
Start
Open the extracted folder and run the launcher inside it.
-
Download the offline edition (PCL2 import pack)
In the download section, click “Download offline edition”. A dialog compares the two editions; choose “PCL2 import pack”.
-
Import into PCL2
Do not unzip it. Drag the whole archive into the PCL2 window and, when prompted, pick an empty folder as the install location. PCL2 extracts it and adds it to the game directory.
-
Start
In PCL2’s version list, pick
SoarClient-1.8.9, choose an account and start. The archive includes Java 8 and every dependency, so there is nothing else to install.
Do I need to install Java separately?
Section titled “Do I need to install Java separately?”No. The game runtime ships with its own Java. The launcher downloads and manages it, so the game does not depend on a JAVA_HOME you set up yourself.
