Online service
Settings → Online service keeps you in sync with other Soar players on the same server.
What is shared
Section titled “What is shared”Once you are on a multiplayer server, Soar connects to the online service automatically and shares:
- Your username;
- The server you are on and which instance of it;
- The cape you picked.
That is how Soar players on the same server see each other’s capes, and how sponsors’ badges are shown. It only connects in multiplayer, never in the main menu or a single-player world.
Connection status
Section titled “Connection status”The page shows the current status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting for a multiplayer server | You are not on a server yet, so nothing is connected |
| Connecting | Connecting now |
| Connected | Working normally |
| Service unavailable | The online service cannot be reached; the client retries by itself and the game is not affected |
Hide my username
Section titled “Hide my username”With Hide my username on:
- You still count in the online total;
- But you do not appear in the same-server list;
- Badges and capes that are normally visible still show.
The bottom of the page lists Other Soar players in this instance, and the number of players who have hidden their usernames.
